Hello and welcome to my blog...Direct From Deb!
I have been interested in style ever since I was a small girl, when I designed outfits for my paper dolls. As a 13 year old, I spent my allowance on a subscription to Vogue. During my teen years and early twenties I played at modeling a bit. In between I spent my days rearranging my parents home, and became the Love Girl at Marshall Field's cosmetics. (if you remember who "that girl" was...then you are as old as I am!) As an adult......My background is in Public Relations. I have chaired many Charity events,including fashion shows. It has been important to me to do everything I do "with style." Having lived on Michigan Avenue in Chicago for many years, I am surrounded by style. Browsing the shops of The Magnificent Mile and Oak Street keeps me up to date on the latest.
I feel that style should be evident in every part of your life. For me,style is more than fashion. It is a creative way of doing anything. Adding glittery initials on a nicely wrapped package or placing individual vases at each place setting. Giving Mom a gift of airline tickets to some wonderful beach destination, then giving her Bobbi Brown's Beach Fragrance to announce the gift. Or select a perfect bracelet.....making it your signature piece of jewelry, and wear it everyday! Style is actually how you do things. My own personal style leans toward a luxe look. I like silver and gold...rich fabrics....shine....and unique details. That being said....I appreciate all types of style.....and that is what I feature in this shopping blog.
